LaLiga Santander Experience signs off in style in Villarreal

Villarreal was the last stop for the 2017/18 LaLiga Santander Experience. With Seville, Barcelona, A Coruña, Vigo, Eibar and Malaga just some of the previous destinations, the roadshow has criss-crossed Spain throughout the campaign, spreading footballing passion across the globe in the process. Taking centre stage on this final occasion were a group of subscribers and reporters who made the trip to eastern Spain courtesy of the broadcasters DirecTV South America, Sportklub Serbia and DAZN Germany.

The finale began with the opportunity to watch Villarreal CF's stars in training. Naturally, given their countries of origin, Carlos Bacca and Antonio Rukavina drew the most attention from the guests and the visiting journalists relished interviewing them. 

 

Next up, the visitors headed to the Estadio de la Ceramica, where they were in for another treat: awaiting them in the home dugout were their very own Yellow Submarine shirts complete with their names on the back. They quickly donned their gifts, before setting foot on the turf and visiting the dressing rooms and press room

However, LaLiga is about more than football. Accordingly, the three broadcasters' special guests also got to immerse themselves in the beauty and history of the city of Valencia, from the contemporary City of Arts and Sciences to the picturesque old town.

The highlight came on Saturday evening: Villarreal v Real Madrid. First, the expedition whetted their appetite in the build-up together with the L'Embolic and Penya Senadors supporters' clubs. They subsequently set off for the Estadio de la Ceramica again, where they witnessed both team buses pulling in prior to watching the players go through their paces in the warm-up and meeting Yellow Submarine legend Marcos Senna.

After revelling in the four-goal thriller from a prime position in the stands, the journalists and competition winners had the chance to talk to one of the game's key figures, Roger Martinez. This put the cherry on top of an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime adventure that provided a fitting ending to the LaLiga Santander Experience action… until next season.
