This Monday saw LaLiga hold meetings with a delegation from the Nigeria Professional Football League and the president of the Solomon Islands Football Federation. The aim of both working meetings was to align positions and work together towards establishing a partnership agreement.
The delegations were welcomed by LaLiga president, Javier Tebas; director general, Javier Gomez and LaLiga's Middle East office manager and head of international projects, Fernando Sanz. Both the presidents of the Nigeria Professional Football League and the Solomon Islands Football Federation showed an interest in the different elements of LaLiga's management model and strategy both nationally and internationally.
The meeting enabled the visitors to gain a first-hand insight into the working methods of several of LaLiga's departments and for LaLiga to showcase the progress being made in international expansion. The topics discussed included: the international football development programme, commercial development, broadcasting rights and training. The meeting also provided the representatives from the two countries with the opportunity to share ideas and experiences. The president gave his thanks to both delegations for their visits and underlined his keenness to develop a partnership with both organisations.
This visit is one of many made by international delegations from other leagues around the world who have also expressed an interest in LaLiga's management model and the progress which has been made across different areas. As a part of LaLiga's internationalisation strategy, the aim of these strategic meetings is to build closer relationships with the federations and leagues from other countries in order for bilateral exchange agreements to be established.
