LALIGA joins forces with DGOJ to intensify its fight against irregular sports betting

LALIGA has signed an agreement to join the Global Investigation Service of the Gambling Market (SIGMA) within the Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling (DGOJ), which will establish a direct telecommunications channel to report any fraud committed in its area of activity.

LALIGA has been collaborating with the DGOJ for years by issuing alerts on the Spanish football betting market thanks to its corporate software Tyche 3.0. Using this new platform, LALIGA now has a more efficient channel with improved standards for the transmission of data and information on the files generated. This will then enable the detection of possible fraud in the betting market.

LALIGA, double award winner

LALIGA has received a double award from INFOPLAY magazine, the leading news magazine for the leisure and entertainment industry. Firstly, it has received the annual Responsible Gaming Training Award, together with Interpol.

LALIGA has been praised for its work in raising awareness among sportsmen and women, offering workshops on integrity and good sporting practices, as well as for its monitoring of betting markets, and collaborating with various organisations, including the State Security Forces and the DGOJ.

Furthermore, Iñaki Arbea, Director of the Integrity Department at LALIGA, has been awarded as Executive of the Year.

Both awards recognise the work that the LALIGA Integrity Department, in collaboration with the clubs, carries out every year to eradicate fraud in the world of football.
