LaLiga accompanied the Spanish sports newspaper Diario AS at the launch of its new digital edition in the United States, which will be based in Miami. Javier Tebas, president of Laliga, and Raul Gonzalez, country manager for the US, attended the event and participated in a conference on football with Alfredo Relaño, director of AS Spain. After Chile, Colombia and Mexico, the United States becomes the fourth country with the direct presence of the AS newspaper and Spanish football.

The presentation was held at the residence of the Consul General of Spain in Miami, Cándido Creis, who stressed the importance which Spanish football is gaining in America.  "We invite the fans to join in some of the supporters clubs of the best known teams from Spanish football in the United States, such as those of the Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Real Betis, Deportivo and Atlético Madrid." The mayor of the city, Pedro Tomas Regalado, meanwhile, welcomed the new edition of Diario AS. "I am sure that it will be successful in the United States because Miami is today what the United States will be in twenty years."

Javier Tebas, president of Laliga, took part along with Raul Gonzalez, country manager for the United States, at a conference on football. In it, the head of Spanish professional football explained the connection between the success of Diario AS and Laliga.  "Those of us who work in the football we need to know that this is an industry, and within that sports industry are both LaLiga as the Diario AS," said Tebas, "and that´s why we must think that the more success they have, the better it will be for LaLiga ". The president also highlighted the "commitment to the internationalization because it is key to the development of the football industry" and hoped that "this same effort that is being placed into the growth in Latin America can move to other parts of the world."

For his part, Raul Gonzalez explained his new role at the head of LaLiga's office in the US. "The opportunity that LaLiga is giving me to learn and have a global vision of football is very important. This project will give me a broader view of what the world of football really is, especially in a country like the US, which is ahead in many respects, “said Raul.

In addition, during the presentation, the FIFA sanctions to Real Madrid CF and Club Atlético de Madrid were assessed by Raul Gonzalez and Javier Tebas: "Children of Real Madrid, Atlético and Barcelona are very well treated and I think the rule is wrong and something has to change. We are in favor of protecting children, and these clubs are, too, “ said the president. Meanwhile, Raul said that "is an incorrect regulation, and LaLiga’s first thought is to protect minors. We'll be with these clubs and hope that that rule can be changed for the good of all. "
