LaLiga is lived intensely in Holy Land

It is true that Liga BBVA is more popular in Israel than the Israeli league and has been consolidated as a competition with a lot of followers. Nowadays, more than in the past, fans prefer to stay at home and watch the best players in the world instead of going to the Israel stadiums. That is logical, since they have the opportunity to see the best football in the world.

What follows is the endless discussion: Which league is better? Premier League or LaLiga? LaLiga has an advantage here, because we can watch all the games on Canal ONE, which is in the basic package of each subscription for cable TV, while to watch the matches of the Premier League you have to pay an extra amount in Sport1 and Sport2 channels.

After 20 years, LaLiga games can be enjoyed in ONE this season. In this way, we can watch more matches, because ONE, as official broadcaster, is broadcasting all. In previous years we could only watch matches of the big teams. Now, with former footballers like Celta de Vigo´s Haim Revivo as commentators, the excitement is twofold.

The footballing link between Spain and Israel had its best year in 2000. Tomer Hemed, Yossi Benayoun and Dudu Aouate put the white and blue colors in LaLiga.

Followers of the Premier League often say that the Spanish League do not have competition, that Real Madrid and Barcelona win it all and that their thrashings against smaller teams make a boring championship. But that is not true. In Spain, as in every country, there are clubs that dominate the top of the table. However, one of the strengths that LaLiga offers every season is the competition for the stay among the less powerful.

The atmosphere and rivalry in derbies such as the Galician or the clash between R. Betis and Sevilla FC add a special flavor that cannot be found in any other league in the world. Moreover, it goes without saying that when El Clásico, like last Nov. 21, arrives, there is no one on the street. The game is being watched in every home.
