Liga BBVA Matchday 34 threw up plenty of excitement and goals, not to mention memorable individual displays that are reflected in the LaLiga Fantasy Best XI. This line-up, based on official LaLiga statistics, brings together the outstanding players from the latest round of Liga BBVA games, and on this occasion one man was head and shoulders above the rest: FC Barcelona forward Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan was unmistakably the Player of the Matchday thanks to his star turn against RC Deportivo, which saw him break teammate Neymar's record for the most points in a single fixture. Suarez scored four goals and produced a host of other key contributions en route to chalking up 34 points.
Atletico Madrid shotstopper Jan Oblak once more takes his place between the sticks, having kept a 21st clean sheet of the league campaign against Athletic Club and earned 10 points. The three-man defence is headed by Valencia CF's Portuguese full-back Joao Cancelo, who netted his first-ever Liga BBVA goal against SD Eibar and amassed 19 points. He is joined at the back by Marc Bartra, who was also on target against Deportivo, and Real Madrid's Marcelo.
The most influential midfielder of the matchday was Luka Modric. The Croat capped his stellar showing against Villarreal CF with a late goal and racked up 19 points. Alongside him are his compatriot Ivan Rakitic and Real Betis duo Joaquin and Dani Ceballos, all of whom collected 15 points.
Up front, meanwhile, Lionel Messi is reunited with Barça partner in crime Suarez, while there is also a spot for Granada CF striker Youssef El-Arabi, who bagged a hat-trick in his side's 5-1 rout of Levante UD.
