With the LaLiga Santander Matchday 38 games now all behind us, it's time to take stock and reveal the last LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI of the season, which features players from no fewer than six different clubs.
On this occasion, the Player of the Matchday honours go to RCD Espanyol defender David Lopez, whose well-taken headed finish handed his side the spoils in their trip to Athletic Club, whilst he also helped Los Pericos to a clean sheet, chalking up 17 points in the process.
Taking his place between the Best XI sticks is David Soria (11 points), who pulled off four stunning saves in Sevilla FC's 1-0 home success over D. Alaves. The aforementioned Lopez is joined in the side's three-man backline by his teammate Naldo (12) and FC Barcelona's Gerard Pique (13).
The team's engine room is dominated by Sevilla players, with the Andalusian outfit providing two representatives in the shape of Franco Vazquez (13) and Roque Mesa (11). Slotting in alongside the Sevilla duo are Barça's Philippe Coutinho (12) and Valencia CF wideman Gonçalo Guedes (13), who were both amongst the goals this weekend.
The forward line features a trio of sharpshooters who all helped themselves to braces in their respective matches. Girona FC's Cristhian Stuani was at the double in the Catalans' away triumph over UD Las Palmas and he is joined by RC Celta frontmen Iago Aspas (17) and Maxi Gomez (15), who both struck twice in the Galicians' 4-2 win over Levante UD.
