The Bavarian rhythm, sausages and costumes monopolize over two weeks southern Germany where, for more than two centuries ago, is held the Oktoberfest, one of the most popular festivals in the world. LaLiga and their fans also enjoy the city atmosphere in which Spanish football is very present thanks to Osasuna's supporters club "Los Rojillos". With them we have lived the Oktoberfest and known the feelings of LaLiga supporters from abroad.
This "Peña" which already has eight members - something which is not too bad for a city in which live two million people - was established in 2012 with the aim of taking the name of Osasuna across Europe. "In our group there are also German members and, although at first they came to watch the games just to taste the Spanish "tapas" that we cooked, but slowly they were hooked by the "Rojillo" feeling," says the president, Alejandro Walloschke.
Walloschke, like many other Spaniards, has immigrated to Germany in search of an opportunity and, by the way, created a Supporters Club that now combines Spanish essence with the Munich-based tradition: the Oktoberfest, the beer festival which takes place in the capital of Bavaria in late September. "We are going all together the first Saturday of each edition to enjoy a beer mugs and to give a 'Prost' (toast, in German) on behalf of Osasuna ".
The dream of going to cheer their team once a year materialized last season, on the last matchday of Liga Adelante, when the team from Navarre played against CE Sabadell. "1,400 kilometers by car and a 10 hour trip well worth to see Osasuna. After the fun we had, we intend to go once a year to El Sadar to show our German friends what the atmosphere of the ground".
