LaLiga is continuing its commitment to football development across numerous countries. This international strategy encompasses 40 Spanish coaches that have been hand-picked by LaLiga in collaboration with the Andalusian Football Association. They are part of a pioneering football development project in schools throughout the country, in an agreement supported by the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE) and China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE).
The majority of the Spanish coaches travelled to different Chinese regions three months ago in order to begin work in schools. The LaLiga specialists have been able to share their experiences as well as technical and sporting knowledge with more than 100,000 Chinese youngsters, who have welcomed the participating coaches in this LaLiga project with high expectations and keen interest.
Fernando Sanz, the head of LaLiga's international projects and their offices in the Middle East and North Africa, believes the initiative is further proof of the strength of the values of professional football in Spain and its position as a global reference for training youngsters. "This project exemplifies LaLiga's desire to develop football throughout the whole world. The future of this sport is imperative to us which is why we are committed to developing players in different categories, with particular focus on the youngest," explained Sanz.
There are 36 Spanish coaches already participating in the project in ten provinces across China. At least four other coaches will join the squad in the coming months in accordance with the collaborative agreement between LaLiga and the Chinese Ministry of Education and China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), which considers football a key sport in the development of millions of schoolchildren in Asia.
