LaLiga have, this Thursday, been awarded the 'Arrigo Beltrami Gold Figurine' by the Panini Group at an event held as part of the Bologna Children's Book Fair, having been selected from among all the partners of the global collectibles leader to receive special recognition for the valuable work done by the organisation.
LaLiga president, Javier Tebas, was presented with the award by Panini Spain's CEO, Lluis Torrent, who said that, "LaLiga are truly deserving of this recognition. The work done by Javier Tebas and his team is proving decisive in raising the profile of Spanish football and its promotion worldwide." Torrent went on to add, "The increased revenue from television rights, the successful financial restructuring of the clubs and their determined efforts to put an end to unfair practices, as well as quash the culture of insulting, violent and xenophobic behaviour in stadiums, are just some of the examples of the magnificent work being carried out."
The LaLiga president said that receiving this award was "an honour, particularly as it comes from a sponsor as special as Panini. This award strengthens the work that has been done by LaLiga and the clubs at an international level in recent years."
LaLiga and Panini are involved in numerous youth-focused projects beyond that of the publication of the official sticker and trading card collections for each season.
