LALIGA and the Iraq Football Association (IFA) have started its collaboration, part of a three-year project that represents a turning point for the development of football in the Gulf region.
Thus, in line with their commitment to the growth of grassroots football in the region, specialists from LALIGA have conducted a series of workshops for the executives of the Iraq Football Association to advance key aspects of their development and professionalization.
These workshops have provided valuable training on the role of match officials, the key aspects of audiovisual protocol, the present and future of football infrastructure, its distinctive role, and the care of the playing field and turf.
Furthermore, through various working sessions held throughout the day, Javier Tebas, the president of LALIGA, has offered a constructive perspective for the development of the sport in the region, both with Adnan Darjal, president of the Iraq Football Association, and with the 42 clubs that make up its major categories.
The agreement between the two entities has begun in line with the goal of enhancing the professionalization of football structures in Iraq and providing them with long-term sustainability, both in terms of business and sports, which further demonstrates LALIGA’s commitment to the development of football in the region.
These initial actions are part of the first phase of the project, focused on diagnosis and training, which will be complemented by a second phase involving the creation and implementation of an action plan, and finally a monitoring and supervision phase.
LALIGA is a global benchmark in grassroots football through its LALIGA Grassroots initiative, which already includes more than 640 projects in 50 countries and has trained over 22,000 local coaches and 200,000 players of all genders across five continents, accumulating valuable experience and knowledge especially useful for foreign federations and clubs.
