The big day had arrived for the members of the 20 participating teams who were itching for the action to get underway at the 25th PAMESA LaLiga Promises National Tournament and revel in this festival of football. However, the on-field action wasn't the only attraction, with the stands at the Pamesa Ceramica Training Ground awash with colour, as those in attendance served up a tremendous atmosphere.

There was no shortage of goals, fine football and effort on display across the three pitches at the training complex, with the players showcasing their considerable quality to demonstrate that there are exciting times ahead for the academies of all 20 clubs. The spirit in which the games were played was also a reflection of the fair play ethos which the teams have brought with them to Villarreal.

What's more, there were even some surprises in store on the opening day of the tournament, with Malaga CF goalkeeper, Carlos Kameni amongst the spectators at the Pamesa Ceramica Training Ground. Kameni was in the stands to see his son, Luka, who plays for the club's Under-12s, and the custodian had the following to say about his boy's participation at the event: "It's a joy to see my son playing in such a top-level tournament in which the children come together for three days and develop professionally and personally." As for Kameni Jr, speaking after his team sealed their place in the round of 16, he couldn't hide his delight as he insisted that he was very happy to be playing at a tournament at which "everyone would like to play." Kameni also spoke about the values he is seeking to pass onto young Luka: "Respect is the basis of everything. The most important thing is to respect your teammates, the opposition and the referee. Then there's also the importance of sharing moments with the fans."

The curtain may well have come down on the first day of the 25th PAMESA LaLiga Promises National Tournament, but there are still a further two days in which the youngsters are set to continue mesmerising us with their talents.
