Jose Gonzalez is the new coach of Malaga CF

Jose Gonzalez takes over at La Rosaleda after Saturday's parting of the ways with Michael Gonzalez. The former Malaga player, 51, has coached with clubs such as Cadiz CF, Granada CF and Beijing Guoan in recent times. 

Malaga, who lie 19th in the standings and seven points from safety, lost their last game 1-0 at Getafe CF on Friday. They have lost their last four games in a row without scoring a goal. His first game in charge will be away at SD Eibar on Monday 22 January.
