Jordi Alba’s 2014/15 season in the Liga BBVA with FC Barcelona
• In what was his three season with los azulgranas, Jordi Alba was a constant fixture in Luis Enrique’s starting line-ups. Despite having to deal with a few injuries over the course of the season, the left back played 27 games, starting all of them. His combination of pace and industry have turned him into a real threat in attack as well as a stalwart in defence.
• Although he missed a number of games, Alba is one of Barcelona’s top passers of the ball. With 1881 passes under his belt, he has made the fourth highest number of passes on the team, only behind Dani Alves, Sergio Busquets and Leo Messi. He also boasts an 88% completion rate, making him a more than reliable player for his fellow team-mates.
• He has made it into the team of the month on two occasions, December and January, when he was able to avoid injury and really fulfil his potential. The young Catalan’s performances were so strong this season that the club decided to extend his contract until 30 June 2020.
