João Cancelo wins LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month for September

João Cancelo has won the LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month Award for September, presented by LALIGA in partnership with GolBall. The FC Barcelona defender receives the accolade for the superb goal which he netted during his debut at the Barcelona’s Estadio Olimpico against Real Betis.

The move started with the Portuguese full-back joining the attack on his natural right flank. He received the ball on the edge of the area, and just when it looked like he was about to let fly, he produced a deft cut-back to get away from his man, set the ball on his right foot and create space for himself. And his finish could not have been sweeter: he lashed his shot low into the far corner of the net, leaving the goalkeeper no chance. All that was left was to celebrate!

Cancelo takes home the LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month Award for the first time, after rising above the other candidates on the shortlist: Willian Jose and Javi Guerra.
