Javier Tebas participated this Wednesday morning in the “Europa Press´ Sports Breakfasts” where he presented LaLiga’s developments in economic and social matters at national and international levels, in addition to review the current situation of Spanish football.
"El Clásico is not going to stop. In Spain we have a good security and all LaLiga matches will be played without problem", said the president of LaLiga in his speech. ”We must be calm and trust in our security forces, who have extensive experience and know how to act on each occasion."
Much of his presentation was based on the economic successes of Spanish football in recent seasons: "In 2015 we have consolidated ourselves economically. We have cleaned up our economy and now it is time to grow in order to compete with other big leagues. Domestic and international markets have been the two key strategies for profit. Account for 50% of revenues. This year we added 600 million euros from the sale of audiovisual rights in Spain and our expectations are to add 2,000 million in the 2019-2020 season, which will make us remain as the best league in the world”.
"LaLiga’s debt with the Tax Agency has been reduced by more than 300 million in just three years and what we will get is that in 2019 it will be a marginal debt of 30 million," said Javier Tebas, who thanked the clubs that are part of LaLiga for their work in the steady growth of the competition. "Clubs are LaLiga engine and much of the national sport. We have a highly competitive league and it is thanks to the club leaders, who fight every day for their teams".
In the same line of the audiovisual rights growth, Javier Tebas also highlighted the increase in attendance in the stadiums with the schedule change. "Thanks to new schedules, the attendance to the stadiums has grown by 11%, in addition to reach many more territories with live coverage".
