Wet gunpowder in Las Palmas
Las Palmas started the match trying to take control of the game, helped by the superiority in midfield which had Paco Herrera's team from the beginning. Led by Jonathan Viera, highly mobile throughout the whole pitch, they were able to create danger, although the "Isleños" failed to hit the target in the chances they had.
Javi Guerra
There was little news from Rayo Vallecano during the opening stages. To the men of Paco Jemez´s was quite difficult to get rid of the domain of canaries and barely managed to reach the goalkeeper´s area. However, the "Franjirrojos" did not waste their best chance, and in a great assist by Trashorras, Javi Guerra scored above of Lizoain to take the lead for his team.
Rayo's chances
After a first half in which the effectiveness had tipped the balance for the "Vallecanos", the visitors began with better feelings than in the previous 45 minutes and were able to extend their lead. Jozabed could not beat Lizoain after a good combination of the "Madrileños" that could have given them more composure.
Canary´s impotence and "Rayista" order
Rayo Vallecano got more settled over the field with the entrance of Jozabed by Embarba. Paco Herrera tried to change the dynamic of his team by putting into play more men of attack, but the "Franjirrojos" solved the Canaries attacks and kept a clean sheet.
Bebé
The good news for the visitors was the performance of the Portuguese Bebé. He came from not being on the call in the team's last game and he was one of the most dangerous players of the side from Vallecas.
