Atlético from least to most
It was an even match at the beginning of the 90 minutes at the Vicente Calderón stadium. Atlético and Valencia measured one another on the pitch and, slowly, the “rojiblanco” team begun to win over the ball. Chances for an Atletico goal started to appear, with Koke as the most active player in the team.
Two goals for Atlético in eight minutes
The local team striker Jackson Martínez opened up the score. In the 32nd minute he caught a ball and beat Jaume Doménech inside the penalty area. Eight minutes later, Carrasco increased Atletico’s score with a great shot from outside the area. With a 2-0 on the board, halftime came to Calderón stadium.

Brillliant Carrasco
The player displayed his talent in the Vicente Calderón. His goal showed his tremendous skills: he took back the ball in the midfield, carried it for 30 meters, made a dribbling and, from outside the area, shot the ball and hit the back of the net. But Carrasco didn’t have enough, he was present in every danger situation against Valencia and also contributed to the defence and conquered the whole left wing.
Valencia went back
Nuno`s team got closer in the 71st minute thanks to a penalty caused by Mustafi and scored by Paco Alcácer. The “ché” goal was a turning point for Valencia. The match was even again.
Jaume Doménech, a very good goalkeeper
No doubt, the best Valencia player. Despite his team’s defeat, Jaume managed to save his team against Atletico’s best chances. In the first half, the goalkeeper made two big saves: a one on one against Koke and another against Jackson. He came back in the second half: in the fourth minute he avoided the second goal of the Colombian striker. It was another brilliant match for the “ché” goalkeeper although he could not avoid the 2-1 defeat.
