Ivan Rakitic wins LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month for November

Ivan Rakitic’s effort against Real Betis in ElGranDerbi has won the LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month Award for November, presented by LALIGA in partnership with GolBall. The Croatian midfielder was at the heart of one of the most memorable LaLiga moments in November as he fired home Sevilla’s equaliser in the derby.

The 35-year-old found himself in possession just outside the box at a point in the game when Sevilla were 1-0 down. Given the distance from goal it seemed that taking a shot wasn’t on the cards, but the best players tend to try their luck in such scenarios. Rakitic waited for the ball to drop before launching an unstoppable rocket of a right-footed shot which flew past Betis keeper Fran Vietes. The Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán went wild!

Ivan Rakitic scoops the award of LALIGA EA SPORTS Goal of the Month for the first time, following in the footsteps of Memphis Depay, João Cancelo and Saúl Coco who have also won it this season. The Sevilla star’s effort beat the other candidates on the shortlist, Ruiz de Galarreta and Dani Carvajal.
