Ibai Gómez, out for between six and eight weeks

Athletic Club centre midfielder Ibai Gómez will be out of action for between six and eight weeks because of a "grade two tear in the right biceps femoris muscle" according to a statement released on the Liga BBVA club's official website.

The 24-year-old, who has been one of the Basque side's best players this season, picked up the injury during Friday's training session in Lezama. Ibai Gómez has made 18 appearances in the Liga BBVA this season and has scored eight times, making him the Lions' joint top goal scorer, alongside Aritz Aduriz.
