Granero to undergo surgery

Esteban Granero, the Real Sociedad midfielder, will undergo surgery on his right knee to fix the anterior cruciate ligament he ruptured in September, according to the Basque club’s website.

Granero, who is on loan this season from Queens Park Rangers, injured himself badly during Sociedad’s first UEFA Champions League clash in the group stage against Shakhtar Donetsk. The club’s medical staff will announce how long the former Real Madrid player will need to recover once the operation is finished.
