Matchday 23 in the Liga BBVA throws up a vital game for Granada CF and Athletic Club. Both teams will be looking for the three points - Granada need to move up the league table and get back on track after a disappointing campaign, while the Basques need to consolidate a good run of form.
Team news
Granada are boosted by the return of goalkeeper Roberto Fernández from an ankle injury, but are still plagued by absentees, with Rubén Rochina, Eddy Silvestre, Jeison Murillo, Sulayman Marreh, Luis Martins, Yousef El Arabi, Riki and Juan Carlos Pérez all out. Athletic meanwhile will be without Ander Iturraspe and Guillermo Fernandez through injury, while Xabi Etxeita is suspended.
View from the dugouts
Granada boss Abel Resino has made it clear his side will only be looking for victory against Athletic: "We have to build on our good performance against Villarreal and get a victory, that would be ideal and that’s what we’ll be looking to do".
Athletic gaffer Ernesto Valverde meanwhile expects Granada to go on the attack from the off: "I think that Granada will take the initiative, that’s how they’ve been playing recently and how I expect them to play".
