Football finished at the Metropolitano with an FC Barcelona win in the final against Sevilla FC, but the party continued at the José Consuegra de Barranquilla theatre with an Awards Ceremony which finished with all the youngsters dancing on stage to Caribbean music.
The closing act, presented by the president of Fundación El Larguero, José Ramón de la Morena, and Laura Martínez, head of sport at Cadena SER also counted with the presence of the city’s mayor Elsa Nogeura and LaLiga president Javier Tebas: "We return to Spain but we take Barranquilla back with us in our hearts. We love you and we will be sure to return", said Tebas at the start of the Ceremony.
The standout moment of the prize giving was the tears of emotion shed by Deivis, of Todo Bien x Killa, as he collected his prize for Best Goal, presented by all the LaLiga youth goalkeepers. Also the double scored by Sevilla’s Carlitos, also the Best Player and Top Scorer, while the Fair Play award went to Real Madrid for the warmth they showed to the boys from Todo x Killa.
Fun came through music. Spanish band Palo Santo, who got the children up on stage to sing with them, and traditional Colombian music, which ended with all of the youngsters dancing to put the icing on the cake of an unforgettable tournament.
