With the Hudson River and imposing Manhattan skyscrapers providing the backdrop, Frank Sinatra Park played host to the opening ceremony for the fourth LaLiga Promises International Tournament. The competition has once again crossed the pond and taken football stars of tomorrow over to New Jersey, where 16 international teams will do battle to lift the trophy in this prestigious competition, which is organised by LaLiga and the Jose Ramon de la Morena Foundation.
The sides are now in New Jersey, having been unveiled to the public in an opening ceremony that championed the values of fair play, honesty and team spirit. FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal CF, Valencia CF, RCD Espanyol and Sevilla FC will represent LaLiga Santander in LaLiga Promises on 8, 9 and 10 June. Liverpool FC, JEF United, Inter Milan, FC Porto, SL Benfica, Club America, New York Red Bulls, New York City and Ironbound SC make up the international contingent that will compete with their Spanish counterparts over the weekend.
Fans in Spain will be able to keep up with every kick on LaLiga's official channels, as well as on LaSexta, MEGA and GOL, while viewers in the United States and Mexico can tune in to Univision and Televisa. Everything is in place for the 16 teams to once again strut their stuff in the name of academy football.
