SÁB 25.10.2014

RCD Mallorca - CE Sabadell (16:00, Iberostar Estadio)

The Balearic Island side have secured two consecutive wins, and they will be looking to extend their run in front of their home fans and move away from the bottom of the table. Meanwhile the Catalan outfit will try and get a second away win in a row. Their boss, Miquel Olmo, spoke about finding form away from home: “At home we’ve shown the consistency of other seasons. Now we need to be better away”.

R. Racing C. - D. Alavés (18:00, El Sardinero)

Racing, who have won, lost and drawn in their last three outings, are looking to find consistency in order to move up the table. They will take on an Alavés side full of confidence thanks to a 1-0 win over one of the season’s form sides, CD Lugo.

The Basque side’s manager, Alberto López, praised their opponents: “Racing is a side that are strong at home. It won’t be an easy game, and we’ll have to be on top of our game to put up with what the ask of us”.

Real Betis - RC Recreativo (18:15, Estadio Benito Villamarín)

All or nothing for the home side, who lost narrowly to CD Leganés last weekend, and are three games without victory. Recreativo will look to stay in the playoff places.

Betis boss, Julio Velázquez, says he has hope: "The important thing is that between us we are all united. I feel that the side needs to win, and that they are confident of doing so". Meanwhile, his opposite number José Luis Oltra, praised their opponents: "It is the best squad in the league and they don’t need to play well to win".

SD Ponferradina - UD Las Palmas (20:00, El Toralín)

A top of the table clash to finish the day. Ponferradina, fifth in the table, will want to remain at home against a Las Palmas side in second place, just two points from the league leaders.

Ponferradina boss Manolo Díaz made his intentions clear: "At home you have to be favourites. I don’t want a draw, even though we’re playing a great side with a top coach". The Canary Island side’s coach, Paco Herrera, spoke of how hard the match would be: "We have to be on their level for every ball and tackle. They are a side with a lot of balance and are well organised. They defend deep and counter quickly".
