- Club Blooming were founded 70 years ago, back on 1 May 1946, following a series of meetings between a group of friends. This makes them the oldest club in Santa Cruz.
- According to one version of events, their name was intended as a reference to Santa Cruz's status as a burgeoning city at the time and was suggested by Mr Roca, an English teacher at the Nacional Florida school.
- Their first league fixture came on 19 July 1953, against La Paz outfit The Strongest. Interestingly, both teams lined up in an old-fashioned 2-3-5 formation.
- They have won five Bolivian top-flight titles – more than any other Santa Cruz side – since 1977, when the current Liga de Futbol Profesional Boliviano was established.
- They have graced continental tournaments on 12 occasions, having had seven campaigns in the Copa Libertadores, four in the Copa Sudamericana and one in the Copa Merconorte.
