- Albacete's head coach, Jose Manuel Aira, holds the points record for Tercera Division, the fourth tier of Spanish football. He amassed a total of 97 in the 2012/13 season while in charge of Racing de Ferrol, and he has guided the Castile–La Mancha outfit back to LaLiga 1l2l3 in his first season in the dugout.
- Albacete proclaimed themselves champions of Group 2 of Segunda Division B with 69 points. Aira's charges faced off against another of the third-tier champions, Lorca FC, but fell at the first hurdle. However, thanks to their first-place finish they had a second shot at promotion, and they did the business against Valencia Mestalla.
- They are the only side from Castile–La Mancha to have played in LaLiga Santander (their maiden campaign was 1990/91), enjoying seven seasons in the top flight of Spanish football.
- Their superb performance in their first season in LaLiga Santander earned them the nickname Queso Mecanico ("Clockwork Cheese"). They finished seventh under Benito Floro, just a single point shy of European football. That team featured the likes of Ismael Urzaiz and Julio Soler.
- There is a close link between Costa Rica and Albacete's goalkeepers. First there was Gabelo Conejo, who was followed by Keylor Navas. The Real Madrid shotstopper kicked off his career in Spanish football at Albacete. Now the club have just signed Danny Carvajal to man Albacete's goalmouth in LaLiga 1l2l3.
