Evan Dimas visited RCD Espanyol's medical team this week in order to receive an update on the state of his injury and speak to club doctors about nutrition and injury prevention in Spanish football.
The first visit of the week was to Dr. Pedro Tormo, head of Espanyol's medical services, who explained the club's working methods in terms of recovery, nutrition and injury prevention.
Evan Dimas subsequently visited Dr. Xavi Gasol, Espanyol B's doctor, who performed tests on his injury. Dr Gasol informed the player that, should there be no setbacks, he will be able to train with the team towards the end of next week, by when he is scheduled to have the cast on his arm removed.
Nestor Salmeron, Espanyol's fitness coach, congratulated the player on his progress over the last few months with the club. Evan Dimas is still following a specific, daily training plan which strengthens his legs and prevents him from losing muscle mass with the aim of being in the best possible shape when he returns to group training.
Evan Dimas is the first player to be selected in the LaLiga Global project, which promotes activities to develop LaLiga's international brand, including support to local footballers with the goal of giving players singled out in different countries an opportunity to further their ability in the best possible environment.
LaLiga is aiming to support the development of young talents in several countries throughout the world, with this project, while placing special emphasis on future gems. Evan Dimas is the first of many players who will participate and visit different major clubs in Spain to get to know their working methods.
