Evan Dimas made the most of his latest visit to the RCD Espanyol training ground to talk to several figures involved in the youth set-up and to get to know the club's Football School, through which they identify boys and girls with the potential to join the club's academy in the future.
Dimas sat down with Alex Garcia, the director of the Espanyol Football School, and also had the opportunity to find out more about the workings of the development programme that has yielded such good results for the club.
To conclude his visit, the Indonesian player attended an Under-11s training session at the school, led by David Llobet. At the end of the usual proceedings, the kids were treated to a masterclass from Dimas, who showcased his skills by illustrating ball-control, dribbling and penalty-taking techniques. He rounded off by encouraging the youngsters to keep working hard and wishing them the best of luck in their league.
Dimas is the first player selected to take part in the LaLiga Global project, which promotes activities to develop LaLiga's international brand, including supporting stand-out local footballers from various different countries by giving them an opportunity to hone their skills in the best possible environment.
Through this project, LaLiga is aiming to support the development of young talents in several countries throughout the world, while placing special emphasis on future gems. Dimas is the first of many players who will participate and visit different major clubs in Spain to get to know their working methods.
