If Penya Perica Berlin had to make a Christmas wish they are clear about what it would be:
"Despite the recent change of coach, which shows that things are not going as planned, we hope the team finishes the season in a stable situation," they said.
And if it comes to dreaming, they also know what would be the ideal gift for 2016. "Why not dream of something bigger like being able to see the team playing outside of Spain in Europe for the first time as a Supporters Club?" they added.
Penya Perica Berlin are a Supporters Club that follows "Los Pericos" (The Parakeets) from the German capital. There have 15 members, and although they have no clubhouse as such, they say that "the Berlin bars are a great option to enjoy LaLiga and German cuisine at the same time".
Following Espanyol from abroad is increasingly easy. Social media networks, the international broadcasting of LaLiga matches from this season, and the growth in interest for the competition are three of the factors that have caught the attention of fans of LaLiga around the globe.
"With the large number of Spaniards who are in Berlin, the great atmosphere in the streets when football is on, and the interest aroused by LaLiga in Germany, it is almost like following the championship from back home in Spain. We particularly enjoy watching the games live, and it is almost as if the distance makes us even more passionate."
