Ernesto Valverde has been chosen as LALIGA EA SPORTS Best Coach for September, an award organized by LALIGA in collaboration with Microsoft. Athletic Club had an immaculate month, remaining unbeaten, and achieving a record of three victories (against UD Las Palmas, CD Leganés, and Celta de Vigo) and one draw (against Sevilla FC) in the last four matchdays of LALIGA EA SPORTS.

The 10 points out of a possible 12 obtained by the team led by Ernesto Valverde have propelled them to fourth place in the league standings, with 14 points, just two behind third-placed Atlético de Madrid and four behind second-placed Real Madrid.

Ernesto Valverde earns his first individual award of the current season, beating Hansi Flick (FC Barcelona) and Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid) in the final vote.
