Eibar see off Elche

SD Eibar racked up their second Liga BBVA win ever with a 0-2 win over Elche CF in the first match of the fourth round of games.

Eibar came onto the pitch with intensity, and it showed in their perfect start. After just three minutes Dani García made it 0-1 with an effort from range. After this, Eibar continued to dominate, and created danger for the home side. Before the break, Gaizka Garitano's men managed to double their lead through Raúl Albentosa who slotted home from a Saúl Berjón.

Fran Escribá sent out Cristian Herrera at the start of the second half, and it was Herrera who came close to cutting the deficit, but sent the ball over the bar following some excellent individual play. Although the side from Alicante continued fighting to turn the situation around, Eibar showed themselves to be strong at the back and take the three points home with them.
