After exploring some of the most iconic sights in New York, SD Eibar set off for the outskirts of Philadelphia, where they turned their attention to their LaLiga World opener against the Fury on 22 May.
The Eibar squad, who are taking part in this international post-season programme for the first time, headed to the Total Turf Experience sports centre to commence their preparations. The players first had some fun with a spot of bubble football, which features giant inflatable bumper balls, before getting down to business with a warm-up and a training match in which Borja Baston was once more in prolific goalscoring form.
Prior to the session, the Eibar party had the chance to get acquainted with their Philadelphia Fury counterparts. The American Soccer League (ASL) side can't wait to test themselves against the Basque outfit in what will be one of their biggest games of the season. As the Fury's Mexican-American defender Isair Castro put it, "It's a real privilege to have a club of Eibar's stature here. It's going to be a great experience for all of our team."
As for Eibar, they are bidding to kick off their LaLiga World campaign with a bang. In the words of the Argentinian midfielder Gonzalo Escalante, "We're going to go out there and enjoy it to the max. It's very important for Eibar, so we're going to try to get a good result."
