The 27th matchday of the Liga Adelante brought about significant changes at the bottom of the division, where Real Madrid Castilla and Hércules were prominent. RC Deportivo de La Coruña, RC Recreativo de Huelva and SD Eibar also continued their own battle for the top spot in the table, led by Eibar on goal difference despite their 0-0 draw against Real Murcia CF.
In other matches, the most notable news of the day came from Manolo Díaz’s Castilla, who for the first time this season moved out of the relegation zone after beating Real Zaragoza (0-2) in a match with plenty of chances for both teams. The Real Madrid reserves have become a tough opponent to beat in this second half of the Liga Adelante and particularly since the arrival of Manolo Díaz to the Whites’ dugout.
Meanwhile, the other team that recovered the smiles on their faces in the competition was UD Las Palmas, claiming a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Girona FC on the Saturday in which they had to come from behind to beat their opponents. Meanwhile, CD Tenerife also resumed winning ways, beating CD Lugo (1-3). The two Canary Islands teams in the Liga Adelante are competing for the play-off places and separated in the table by just a single point.
After these results the Liga Adelante is more evenly matched than ever, with just eight points between the relegation zone and the play-off spots.
