RC Deportivo de la Coruña beat RCD Mallorca 3-1 in the Riazor, meaning that the home team now finds itself in second place in the Liga Adelante. José Luis Oltra's men, on the other hand, have now played four matches without a win and are just three points above the relegation zone.
There was little to separate the teams early on and neither hesitated to go forward, but Deportivo had more luck and were the first to light up the scoreboard with a goal from Luisinho. Minutes later Pedro Geromel was sent off for a second yellow meaning the visitors had their work cut out, and even more so when Luis Fernández found the net again for the Galician side.
No sooner had the second-half kicked off, Víctor Casadesús managed to cut the deficit from a from-kick. The Balearic side was back in the match and began to unsettle their opponent, but in the end Marchena made it 3-1 to restore calm to Fernando Vázquez's side, who continue to climb the table.
