Team news:

R. Sporting: Bernardo Espinosa (injured).

RC Deportivo: Fabricio Agosto (injured).

Match Facts:

R. Sporting (17th, 21 pts):

- The Asturians are enjoying one of their best turns of form. They are on a run after reaping consecutive victories against Real Sociedad (5-1) and away to Valencia CF (1-0). They were the first team to win at Mestalla since November 2014.

- The arrival of Ognjen Vranjes has given Abelardo Fernandez new alternatives for his defensive line. The Bosnian player made his debut at right-back against Valencia, and looked solid and reliable at the back.

RC Deportivo (9th, 30 pts):

- The Galicians are in desperate need of something to smile about. They have not won since 19 December, when they beat SD Eibar 2-0. Since then, they have managed four draws and two defeats.

- Lucas Perez remains their main attacking threat. The striker scored in the last two games and now stands on a total of 14 goals.

What's on in Gijon this weekend?

The locals will take to the streets to celebrate Antroxu, the Asturian name for the carnival festivities. On Saturday, on matchday, there will be a range of events, such as a children's fancy dress parade, a children's film acting workshop and a brass band contest.
