Deportivo gets a hard-worked draw

The clash between RC Deportivo and Athletic Club ended with a 2-2 draw in the match that faced the two teams in Liga BBVA´s Matchday 8. Review the keys moments of the game.

Lack of luck in the first half

Accuracy was the worst enemy of Deportivo in the first half. The goal posts were in the middle of the way of a team that reacted well to the goal against and tried over and over again, but Luis Alberto could not get beyond the crossbar after two great shots. However, its luck changed in the second half.

Deportivo's courage

Although the Galician team was two goals behind on the scoreboard after goals from Iñaki Williams and Aritz Aduriz, the persistence and intensity that Víctor Sánchez del Amo brings to his team and the good run of Deportivo encouraged them to believe and overcame the game to get 13 points on Liga BBVA´s table.

Iñaki Williams returns to be key

After a long injury and now fully recovered, the striker showed again that it is one of the souls of the Athletic squad. He opened the scoring in the 30th minute after a cross from Balenziaga to the far post.

Aduriz's goal

Athletic´s hitman scored his fifth goal in the competition and extended the lead at the time when forces were more even. Aduriz remains the reference of a team that, in the end, failed to win and had to settle for a draw.

Lucas Pérez and Arribas, decisive

In just ten minutes, Deportivo banged on the table and went up to overcome the match and take a valuable point in front of its fans and against a tough opponent. Lucas Perez opened the way in the 80th minute and Alejandro Arribas closed the result in added time.
