Córdoba CF and RCD Espanyol drew 0-0 in the final game of matchday 6 of the Liga BBVA held at the Nuevo Arcángel Municipal Stadium.

Neither team dominated the first half, with the two sides alternating on the ball. The Blanquiverdes tried to push up in the early stages, attempting to threaten the opposition goal from the set piece. Constant runs by the home side’s right back Gunino were the biggest threat for the Califas throughout the game. Espanyol grew more comfortable as the minutes went by and they tried to play their way into the game.

After the break, the Argentine Fede Cartabia became the liveliest footballer on the field. All of Córdoba’s attacking play revolved around him. The Argentine came close to making it 1-0 from a free kick in front of the box, but goalkeeper Kiko Casilla made a perfect save. More organised defensively in the second half, the Catalan side attacked less frequently than in the first half and seemed to settle for the one point. In the dying moments, ‘Chapi’ Ferrer’s men, looking for Xisco with high balls, tried to create danger with that facet of their game, but the scoreboard remained on 0-0.
