Copa del Rey Draw

Emotion, suspense and football. The Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey sees the Liga BBVA sides enter the competition, alongside the six Liga Adelante and Segunda B sides. 32 teams will fight it out for the prize, and as ever there will be surprises along the way.

SD Huesca were the first side to come out of the draw smiling. The first name out of the hat learnt that their opponents would be FC Barcelona, and are one of the Segunda División B sides who will face the Liga BBVA sides in European competition.

The second phase of the draw saw Liga Adelante sides pitted against those from Liga BBVA. The standout ties from that include Real Valladolid v Elche CF and UD Las Palmas hosting RC Celta. The act finished with the draw for the Liga BBVA sides. One of the highlights from this was Rayo Vallecano versus Valencia CF.

The round of 32 will be played on 3 and 17 December, with the exception of Real Madrid, who given their commitment to the FIFA Club World Cup will travel to Cornellà on Wednesday 29 October, and play the return leg on 3 December.
