An altitude of 2,571 metres
Playing at over 2,000 metres above sea level is no mean feat, but the RCD Espanyol troops managed it in their second and final match as part of their LaLiga World tour. On this occasion, the backdrop was the Felix Capriles Stadium in Cochabamba, a city located in a valley known for its fertile land that boasts the status of being one of the highest on the planet. There could be no more fitting backdrop for the Catalan side to bring their South American tour to a close.
Three goals ruled out
Although the game ended goalless, it could have been a very different story had it not been for three disallowed goals, with two coming in the first half and one in the second.
Pau Lopez named man of the match
On an evening without goals, it was the goalkeepers who stole the headlines. Espanyol's Pau Lopez was named man of the match on the back of a string of impressive saves and received his award from Fernando Sanz, LaLiga's director of international projects.
The stadium where the Bolivian title could be decided
A potential Bolivian league title decider will kick off just 24 hours after the LaLiga World fixture reached its conclusion. Club Jorge Wilstermann will be in action in their final home match of the season at the same stadium, where a point against Petrolero de Yacuiba will secure domestic success.
Callejon back in action involving Espanyol
This time it wasn't Jose, but Juanmi who was involved in an Espanyol match. The midfielder has been at Club Bolivar since 2013 and has now earned his status as the star player for a team that have got used to finishing in the upper reaches of the table. His twin brother, who currently plies his trade for Napoli after spells with Espanyol and Real Madrid, is very familiar with the side Juanmi faced last night, having spent three seasons with the Catalan outfit from 2008 until 2011.
