What does it mean to you to represent LaLiga around the world?
It's a privilege and a source of pride to represent the best league on the planet.
Why is LaLiga the best competition in the world?
LaLiga is the best league on the planet because in recent times it's the LaLiga clubs who have won all of the major competitions. Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have both lifted the Champions League in the last few seasons, whilst Sevilla FC have won the Europa League several times. What's more, the LaLiga sides are now well used to contesting the finals of these competitions and they boast some real stars with the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as many other top quality players…There are some massive clubs in LaLiga.
What are your thoughts on the growth of football in Africa?
It's developing really well. Africa produces a great number of players, some of whom ply their trade in LaLiga, whilst others go and play in other parts of the world. The growth has been significant and there are organised leagues for young players and tournaments like the African Cup of Nations, which is where the top African players get to showcase their talents.
What's your take on the quality within LaLiga and on the title race?
As for the quality of the league, it really couldn't be any better and El Clasico is sure to be pivotal in deciding the destiny of the title.
What sort of shape are the two teams in going into El Clasico? Who are the favourites?
The two sides head into El Clasico with great focus and both teams will be really up for it. For me, Real Madrid are the favourites because they're leading the way in the league.
