Atletico Madrid 2-3 RC Celta (2-3 agg)
It was an exciting match at the Vicente Calderon with Eduardo Berizzo's men starting brightly. In the 22nd minute Pablo Hernandez opened the scoring heading home after a well-worked corner move. Only seven minutes later, Antoine Griezmann equalised, which left the scores level at half time. After the break, John Guidetti scored with a stunning 30-metre drive to put his side ahead once again and Pablo Hernandez netted his second header to leave Atletico struggling. A late goal from Angel Correa reduced Atletico's deficit but was not enough to stop Celta progressing.
FC Barcelona 3-1 Athletic Club (5-2 agg)
The Basques struck first after making an impressive start at Camp Nou. In the 12th minute, Iñaki Williams opened the scoring rounding Ter Stegen on a breakaway and the score remained that way until the break. Barcelona responded in the second half and Luis Suarez levelled the scores on the night after a great move between Sergi Roberto and Lionel Messi. Gerard Pique headed the second nine minutes from time and Neymar sealed the win in stoppage time with a fierce strike into the top corner.
