Carlos Hernandez named LaLiga 1|2|3 Player of the Month for December

Real Oviedo centre-back Carlos Hernandez has been named LaLiga 1|2|3 Player of the Month for December. The Spaniard picked up the accolade off the back of a perfect month, in which Jose Antonio Anquela's side's rearguard was not breached in any of their four league fixtures.

The number 6 has become a key figure in defence and even managed to get on the scoresheet against Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa (3-0). Last month, R. Oviedo showed their pedigree as one of the most consistent outfits in LaLiga 1|2|3 with Hernandez in the side. Away wins against Lorca FC (2-0) and Sevilla Atletico (1-0), coupled with home victories over CA Osasuna (1-0) and Cultural (3-0) epitomised the team's impressive run of form and defensive solidity.

This season, LaLiga has added a new dimension to the awarding of the Player of the Month accolade, bringing fans closer to the action of one of the most competitive leagues in the world. This will see Hernandez collect the award in front of the R. Oviedo faithful, before his side's match against UD Almeria.
