Home dominance y Galician effectiveness during the first half

Parity was the common denominator in the first few minutes of the match. Little by little, the home side took control of the ball, but did not manage to create any danger. They ended up paying for it when Lucas Perez appeared and put Deportivo in front. After this, the away team held up their lines and Levante tried it, with hard luck yet again.

Levantine reaction in the second period

Rubi’s team had already been warning everyone at the end of the first half. Levante had moved their lines forward and Roger Marti, just before the break, had the draw in his boots. However, his shot skimmed past the post. Second half, fresh start. The home side went out looking to change things. In one of their first chances of the second act came the equalizer. Free kick that Camarasa turns into a goal. It meant Levante’s 400th goal in their Liga BBVA history. From there onwards, complete domination and persistence by Rubi’s side.

Lucas Perez, the goal man for Deportivo

The Galician footballer achieves his seventh goal and is the top scorer for Deportivo. Last matchday, his goal meant a draw against Atletico de Madrid. This time, Lucas Perez scored with a low strike against Ruben, after picking up the ball on the half way line and performing a good run.

German Lux saved Deportivo and Feddal did the same for Levante

The key play of the match. In the 58th minute, Morales, one of the players that had standed out the most, shoots from the penalty dot. Lux, very agile in goal, sent the ball out for a corner kick. However, Levante kept on trying it, but they stumbled across Lux, the best for the home side. On the other side of the pitch, good through pass by Mosquera, Lucas Perez shoot and the ball goes through Ruben’s legs. Feddal saves it pretty much on the goal line to stop the Galician goal.

Bittersweet draw

The final 1-1 result didn’t satisfy any of them. Levante gained a point, but is still at the bottom of the league. However, it’s not all bad. Rubi’s side added a point and gave a good image in front of their supporters. From the away side, Deportivo is still unable to win. Four draws and a loss in the last five matches.
