Borja Baston named LaLiga SmartBank Player of the Month for April

Borja Baston has been voted the LaLiga SmartBank Player of the Month for April. The Real Oviedo striker's goals and all-round fine play helped his team produce a perfect five league wins out of five in April, putting them in the promotion playoff places and looking increasingly likely to make the cut.

The forward chipped in with two goals and an assist to aid this magnificent run of results. He netted the winner in the 1-0 victory over CD Leganes and scored in the 3-0 triumph over CD Mirandes, as well as providing an assist in the 2-1 defeat which his team inflicted on Real Zaragoza.

Borja Baston takes over the reins of this trophy from the Girona FC forward Nahuel Bustos, who claimed the accolade in March. The Oviedo goalscorer came out on top in the voting ahead of CD Tenerife player Enric Gallego and UD Palmas' Kirian Rodriguez.
