LALIGA presented its annual LALIGA Awards yesterday at the joint ceremony with the KAFD Globe Soccer European Awards in Cala di Volpe (Sardinia) following a historic joint agreement with the organisation which was signed at the beginning of the season. The event was attended by Quico Catalán, Vice-President of LALIGA, and LALIGA players such as FC Barcelona's Lewandowski or coaches such as Girona FC’s Míchel, plus personalities from the world of football such as Fabio Capello and Mbappé. Through this agreement, which represents Globe Soccer's first collaboration in the European market, LALIGA confirmed its commitment to putting fans at the heart of its New Era. The winners were chosen from the list of nominees through a fan voting system, the club captains and a panel of experts.

LALIGA presented 4 awards in its annual categories: Bellingham (Real Madrid) was crowned Best Player by EA SPORTS FC24, Míchel (Girona FC) won the award for Best Coach by Beyond Stats, Yamine Lamal (FC Barcelona) received the distinction of Best U23 Player by Sorare and Jesús Areso (CA Osasuna) won the Best Goal of the season for his strike against Getafe CF at El Sadar.

Real Madrid and Girona CF also featured in the TOTS awards recognising the 15 players who make up the Team of The Season, with those clubs having five and four players, respectively, in the ideal team. The winners, chosen from the 50 nominees, were Unai Simón, Daniel Carvajal, Ronald Araujo, Antonio Rüdiger, Miguel Gutiérrez; Aleix García, İlkay Gündoğan, Federico Valverde, Isco, Jude Bellingham, Sávio, Griezmann, Robert Lewandowski, Artem Dovbyk and Vini Jr.

Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA, said: “The staging of this ceremony has been a milestone for European football, but also for LALIGA, as the partnership with Globe Soccer has allowed us to offer a luxurious setting for the LALIGA Awards. It's very important for LALIGA to recognise the effort and excellence that these awards represent, not forgetting that two of the principles of our New Era are, namely ‘Aim High’ and ‘Believe in Talent’, two values that our players, coaches and clubs perfectly represent”.

Tommaso Bendoni, Founder & CEO of Globe Soccer, said: "As we continue to expand the Globe Soccer brand around the world, it is a tremendous honour to have hosted the La Liga Awards 2024 in partnership with the inaugural Globe Soccer Awards Europe Edition. Together, our powerful brands have united the very best of European football talent – from the pitch to the boardroom - in the wonderful resort of Cala di Volpe. We congratulate the La Liga Awards 2024 winners and look forward to enriching our strategic collaboration in the future”.

The organisers of the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, which have been celebrating the world's best footballers on and off the pitch for more than 14 years, announced in August that a new continental Globe Soccer series would be launched in 2024. The inaugural KAFD Globe Soccer European Awards presented more than a dozen awards, including Best Male Player (Mbappé), Best Male Club (Manchester City), Best Female Club (FC Barcelona), Best Coach (Xabi Alonso), Best Emerging Talent (Lamine Yamal), Best Premier League Coach (Mikel Arteta), Breakthrough Club (Atalanta). In addition, the KAFD Globe Soccer European Awards also presented a number of special awards, career awards for players and coaches.

LALIGA Awards have been presented in monthly categories throughout the season to highlight the work of coaches and players, using metrics such as number of matches played, points scored and other more sophisticated factors involving aspects such as pace of play or attacking containment.
