FC Barcelona 6-1 Paris St-Germain (6-5 on aggregate)
Barcelona were bidding to become the first team in the Champions League to progress to the quarter-finals having lost the first leg 4-0, and they made a flying start at a vibrant Camp Nou. Luis Suarez made the most of a goal-mouth scramble to nod the ball home from close range after only three minutes and Luis Enrique’s men continued to lay siege to the French goal. It was five minutes from halftime when Barça grabbed their second, when Andres Iniesta chased down a lost cause and managed to backheel the ball into the danger area. Layvin Kurzawa inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to set pulses racing around the ground.
The second half was only five minutes old when Neymar was brought down for a penalty and Lionel Messi stepped up to score from the spot to make it 3-0 on the night. PSG almost had the perfect response, when Edinson Cavani slid in to fire a shot against the post. Visiting coach Unai Emery, the former Sevilla and Valencia boss, threw on Angel Di Maria to lift his side and soon after Cavani volleyed home to pull a goal back for the Parisians. The tie looked to be slipping away from the hosts until an incredible final seven minutes of the game.

First Neymar curled a superb freekick over the wall into the near top corner in the 88th minute. In the 90th Luis Suarez was brought down in the area for another penalty and this time responsibility was handed over to Neymar. The Brazilian calmly slotted away his spot kick to set up a grandstand finale with five minutes of added time. Marc-Andre ter Stegen joined the attack as Barça laid siege to the PSG area and in the final minute Neymar picked up the ball outside the area. Instead of shooting he floated a ball into the area and Sergi Roberto raced in to volley home from close range. The ground erupted into celebrations as the final whistle went after an historic night of Champions League drama.
