LaLiga will have two teams in Friday’s Champions League semi-final draw, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, after FC Barcelona were knocked out by Juventus on Wednesday.

Barça needed to overturn a 3-0 first leg deficit after last week’s defeat in Turin. They started knowing that every home result in the Champions League in this season’s competition would put them in the semis (7-0, 4-0- 4-0 and 6-1). Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez led the line as wave after wave of attacks swarmed down on the Italians’ goal, cheered on by over 96,000 fans at the Camp Nou.

The Italians continued to stand firm in the second half as Messi came closest to starting the fightback, but Luis Enrique’s men were unable to find a way past veteran keeper Gianluigi Buffon and the game finished 0-0.

The draw for the semis will take place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland at 12:00 CET on Friday, with last year’s finalists Atletico and Real Madrid in the pot, having won their ties against Leicester City and Bayern Munich respectively. They are joined by Juventus and AS Monaco, who knocked out Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday’s other tie.

As it happened: Barça v Juve
