Baena and Luso put Rayo into tenth

Rayo Vallecano got a 1-2 win on their visit to Córdoba CF in the game corresponding to matchday 37 of the Liga BBVA. The Madrid side’s goals were scored by Raúl Baena and Adrián Embarba, while the home side’s goal came courtesy of Luis Eduardo Delgado 'Luso'.

Vallecano’s goal came after a shot on goal from Luís Carlos Pereira 'Licá'. Mikel Saizar cleared but Raúl Baena got the ball to make it 0-1 in the 21'. A minute after conceding the goal, Córdoba had a good chance through de Fede Vico but the midfielder hit the woodwork. The side trained by Paco Jémez could have increased their lead on the half-hour mark through Alberto Bueno, but he was unlucky.

Soon after the second-half, Saizar made a good save following a shot by Emiliano Insúa. In the 55’ minute, Fidel Chaves provided an assist to Luso got the equaliser with a volley. In the 77’ minute Rayo scored again. Embarba got the goal after dribbling past a defender and sending the ball in at the back post. Rayo got the win and are now on 49 points while Córdoba are bottom and will be playing in the Liga Adelante next year.
