The growing passion for football, and LALIGA in particular, is once again evident in the stadium attendance figures for clubs competing in LALIGA EA SPORTS and LALIGA HYPERMOTION.  During the first half of the season (covering matches played between August and January), the number of fans in the stadiums increased by 10.9% compared to the same period last season. Specifically, LALIGA EA SPORTS experienced a 2.3% rise, while LALIGA HYPERMOTION recorded an impressive 30.8% growth.

This significant increase is largely driven by the exceptional competition in LALIGA HYPERMOTION, where several historically significant clubs are battling for promotion to the top tier, making this one of the most exciting seasons in recent years.

Additionally, this growing interest in live football attendance has been further boosted by LALIGA initiatives such as the Grada Visitante agreement. The initiative, in collaboration with LALIGA EA SPORTS clubs, sets a maximum ticket price of 30 for visiting fans on a minimum quota of 300 tickets per match. Last season, this agreement proved to be a great success, with 17 clubs participating and nearly 60,000 tickets sold.

Abanca Balaídos and RCDE Stadium lead the way in attendance growth

In LALIGA EA SPORTS, RC Celta is in first position in terms of increase in attendance at Abanca Balaídos, registering 28.4% more fans than in the first round of the 2023/24 season. In second position is RCD Espanyol, which has achieved an increase of 21.5% at the RCDE Stadium.  Closing the top three is CD Leganés, whose return to the top flight has attracted more fans to the Estadio Municipal de Butarque, with a 20.8% increase over the same period last year.

Meanwhile, several clubs from the Cantabrian coast that compete in LALIGA HYPERMOTION have also seen significant attendance boosts. Real Oviedo experienced a 30.1% increase in fans attending the Estadio Carlos Tartiere in comparison to last season. Real Racing Club closely follows with a 29.9% rise in attendance at the Campos de Sport de El Sardinero, while Real Sporting recorded a 28.8% increase at El Molinón.

Furthermore, matches in the first half of the current season in LALIGA EA SPORTS which saw the greatest increase in attendance compared to the previous campaign were Villarreal CF-RC Celta, FC Barcelona-Atlético de Madrid, and RC Celta-Deportivo Alavés. While in LALIGA HYPERMOTION, the most attended matches were Elche CF-CD Mirandés, Real Oviedo-FC Cartagena and R. Racing Club-Albacete BP.
